Northern Nevada High School Model United Nations Conference
International Solutions To The Global Refugee Crisis
December 10-11, 2016
The NNHSMUN Conference offers all participants a platform to cultivate excellent communication and decision making skills by leveraging the power of compromise, consensus, and cooperation for effective negotiations.
Northern Nevada High School Model United Nations Conference is a two-day international relations simulation for high school students held annually in Reno, Nevada. At NNHSMUN delegates gain insights into the workings of United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by role –playing the UN representatives of 20+ countries, in several of the six committees of the General Assembly and UN specialized agencies. Student delegates will address critical issues their nations face with focus on finding solutions on improving the status of refugees. These committees each have a different topic they specialize in for debates.
During the conference, students learn the importance of balancing national interest with the needs of international community, while also learning and understanding the powers and limitations of negotiations.
